Julian is currently in his 10th year of practising almost exclusively in family Law. He graduated with a Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) in October 2013. He is currently studying towards obtaining accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
Julian's particular areas of interest include parenting matters and property disputes. He frequently represents clients at mediations, conciliation conferences, and other dispute resolution forums. In keeping with the philosophy of Darwin Family Law, he seeks a mediated outcome where possible. In any given month however, Julian also provides representation and advocacy for a number of clients at the Federal Circuit Court, were most family law matters in Darwin are litigated.
Julian understands that men often feel particularly alienated from the family law system, and feels that he has some tried and tested ways to help men deal with family breakdown. At the same time, Julian is just as committed to his female clients who comprise about half of his practice.
Like Julie, Julian has lived in both Central Australia and Darwin and is a long term Territorian with a passion for family law. In addition to living in Central Australia for about a decade, apart from a short stint back to Alice Springs in 2005, Julian has called Darwin home for over 19 years. He lives with his working wife and 2 young children in the northern suburbs of Darwin.
